[XOMTOUR x FAIR TRAVEL KOREA] RECAP OF THE VIETNAM DISCOVERY PROGRAM: A JOURNEY OF HISTORY, CULTURE, AND SOCIAL INNOVATION
This past January, XomTour partnered with Fair Travel Korea to organize a program tailored for Korean students in two batches: from January 11–15, 2025, and January 20–24, 2025. This initiative is part of XomTour’s sustainable tourism projects, implemented by Vcil Community.
Designed specifically for young Koreans, the program was more than just a discovery tour—it was an opportunity for in-depth exploration of Vietnam’s history, culture, and people. Moreover, it provided insights into Vietnam’s current social issues and the innovative initiatives addressing these challenges.

Whenever we set foot in a new land, we often carry many questions about its history, culture, and people. That’s why the first day of the journey was dedicated to exploring and connecting with the destination through visits to historical sites, museums, and storytelling sessions that shared meaningful narratives about Vietnam’s past and cultural heritage. Additionally, the group had the chance to experience the À Ố Show—a mesmerizing performance blending bamboo circus, contemporary dance, and traditional music. This show vividly depicted life in Vietnam’s South Central Coast and Mekong Delta regions amid urbanization, highlighting the tensions between tradition and modernity in both rural and urban settings.

Beyond cultural exploration, the trip also provided opportunities to engage with leading social enterprises in Vietnam. A memorable stop was KOTO, Vietnam’s first social enterprise, dedicated to providing vocational training for disadvantaged youth, equipping them with the skills to secure employment and transform their lives.
The group then visited Journey of the Senses, a social enterprise supporting people with disabilities, particularly the visually and hearing impaired, by offering employment opportunities and fostering inclusivity. Another highlight was C2T, a pioneering startup in regenerative tourism that not only adapts to climate change but also brings sustainable value to local communities.

Additionally, the group had the opportunity to visit Limart, a social enterprise committed to promoting an eco-friendly lifestyle through waste recycling and sustainability initiatives. What made Limart special was its workforce—80% of its employees are visually impaired, hearing impaired, or individuals with disabilities. Here, the students participated in a unique soap-making workshop in complete darkness, an immersive experience that provided new perspectives and deep emotional connections.

As the program concluded, many students shared their reflections. Some expressed how their experience at C2T deepened their sense of connection and responsibility toward the community, sparking questions about their own lifestyle: How can we reduce waste and protect the environment more effectively? Others were particularly impressed by KOTO’smodel of equal opportunity, where the focus is on empowerment, training, and support for disadvantaged youth, giving them a fresh start in life.
The journey ended with cherished memories, valuable lessons, and a deep sense of gratitude for the people and places visited. More than just a trip of discovery, this program became an opportunity to forge deeper connections—with culture, nature, and oneself—while inspiring young people to become catalysts for positive change in their own communities.
